Warranty Guidelines

What is covered

Wood Castle will repair or replace at no charge any item deemed to be defective in materials and workmanship during the lifetime (warranty period) of the original purchaser.

About Your Furniture

Wood color

All woods change in color over time. Among other factors, sunlight can cause color shift in wood furniture. “Color aging” continues for decades, but the most significant shift occurs within the first year or so; darker rooms slow the process. Our cherry furniture leaves the factory looking almost strawberry-blonde and turns a lovely cinnamon-burgundy within a few months, then continues to darken more slowly over the years. Our Oregon maple takes on a warm gold hue over time; walnut and other woods shift slowly.

Wood variation

No two cherry (or maple or walnut) trees are alike. Variation in color and grain, including occasional streaks of lighter sapwood, small dark mineral deposits, and tiny knots and pin holes, is natural and expected. While random, variation gives wood its warmth and allure.

Furniture care

Solidly built and expertly finished, Wood Castle furniture requires minimal care. These recommendations will keep your wood furniture looking its best:
- Routinely dust with a damp (not wet) cloth. A mild soap diluted with water can help remove dirt build-up.
- A light polish (we recommend Howard’s Orange Oil) may be used occasionally. Strong cleaners containing ammonia, bleach, or solvents should not be used. Wax-based cleaners or polishes are not necessary, and wax build-up can be difficult to remove.
- Avoid placing furniture in direct sunlight, near heating/cooling vents, or where temperature and humidity change frequently.
- Move objects in contact with the surface frequently to assure even color-aging. A light area left by an object will “catch up” to the surrounding wood over time.
- Use felt pads when placing items such as clocks, lamps, or TVs on your furniture. Objects in direct contact with the surface can mar the finish, and synthetic rubber or plastic feet can cause permanent damage.
- Repairing dents or scratches should be done by a professional. Unprofessional care may void the warranty.

What is not covered
